Diatonic chords

Click any outer key — say C — and the three outer sectors (F, C, G) and three inner sectors (Dm, Am, Em) light up. These six chords are the natural palette of C major, called diatonic chords.

02

Outer vs inner ring

The outer ring holds 12 major chords; the inner ring holds their relative minors. C major and A minor share the same notes — that's why Am sits directly inside C on the wheel.

03

7th chords

Toggle the 7th-chord mode to add the seventh interval: major keys get maj7 (e.g. Cmaj7), minor keys get min7 (e.g. Am7). Common in jazz, neo-soul and modern pop progressions.
